Happy New Year from Anne Michaelsen Design! This year's Pantone Color is "Classic Blue" and we couldn't be more excited about that here at AMD! According to Pantone "it's a color that anticipates what's going to happen next," which is appropriate as we enter a new decade. And in our opinion, it's a beautiful way to integrate bold color into your home that will never go out of style.
We picked out some of our favorite designs that incorporate "Classic Blue"...scroll down for some inspo on how to integrate the color into your home!
"Classic Blue" is the focal point in this
Balboa Island home's upstairs study.
The Classic Blue linen curtains and sofa in Glant mohair fabric introduce the hue in two different textures. The bold hue makes a statement in this space, while still maintaining a calm coastal feeling that amplifies the incredible waterfront views. We couldn't imagine going with a different color here!
"Classic Blue" deserves a spot in your wallpaper!
The abstract "Classic Blue" pattern in this Trove wallpaper via Thomas Lavin Showroom offers an elegant coastal feeling in this powder room. While the pattern is busy, the calming blue color prevents it from overwhelming the small space.
Make the "classic" hue cool by introducing
eclectic prints and modern materials.
This graffiti wall is actually wallpaper by Pierre Frey in collaboration with contemporary artist Torrick Ablack aka "TOXIC". The pops of blue in the graffiti pair well with the indigo-dyed and denim blue pillows for a truly eclectic, modern mix.
Add "Classic Blue" accents into your home
for an easy design refresh!
If you're not looking to make major design updates to your home this year, introducing new accents in "classic blue" is the way to go. Bold blue towels and throws definitely count as decor in our book!
We hope you enjoyed seeing how "Classic Blue" can add a fun bold hue to all sorts of spaces in your home. We must say we're quite a fan of Pantone's choice this year.
Cheers to a wonderful 2020 and new decade!
